God Is Near to the Brokenhearted

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
— Lamentations 3:22–23

Reflection

Some mornings feel heavy.
You wake up tired, and yesterday’s mistakes still echo in your mind.
Regret, worry, or guilt quietly follows you into the day.

Lamentations was written in a season of deep pain.
The people had lost almost everything.
Yet in the middle of their sorrow, a gentle truth shines through: God’s mercy had not run out.

God does not give mercy once and expect us to survive on it forever.
He gives it fresh.
Every morning.

Yesterday’s failures do not cancel today’s grace.
God’s love does not expire overnight.
When you open your eyes each morning, mercy is already waiting for you.

This verse reminds us that God’s faithfulness is greater than our weakness.
We may wake up unsure, but He remains steady.
We may feel empty, but His mercy is always full.

You do not have to earn today’s grace.
You simply need to receive it.
God meets you where you are—tired, uncertain, or hopeful—and walks with you through the day, step by step.

No matter what yesterday held, today begins with mercy.

Life Application

  • Begin your day by thanking God for fresh mercy
  • Release yesterday’s failures into His hands
  • Trust Him for strength for today, not tomorrow

Short Prayer

Lord, thank You for Your new mercy today.
Help me rest in Your grace and trust Your faithfulness.
Amen.

Daily Reminder

Today begins with God’s mercy, not your past.
